The Spectra Precision CR700 Combination Laser Receiver is a machine mounted display receiver used on small grading and excavating equipment as well as a traditional laser receiver mounted to a grade rod. With super bright directional LEDs, it is ideal for entry-level machine grade display, specifically on mini-excavators and backhoes. This provides instant grade information to the operator and eliminates the need for a rod man in the trench. It uses the patented light bar technology incorporated in the HL family of Spectra Precision laser receivers, providing more accurate and consistent readings than traditional methods and with fewer electronic components. It has a working radius of 1500 ft (460 m) (laser dependent) and a laser detection height of 5 in (12.7 cm) for quick beam acquisition. Six accuracy setting fit any jobsite requirements from Ultra Fine (1/32 in - 0.5 mm) to Machine Coarse (1.0 in - 25. 0 mm). Three Beeper Volumes include medium and low and loud to 110 dBA. Automatic shutoff after 30 minutes of non-use conserves battery life. Environmental standard of IP67 - waterproof and dustproof - and superior drop protection ensure minimum downtime.
DualâMode Receiver for Rod & Machine â The Spectra Precision CR700 Combination Laser Receiver excels as both a grade rodâmounted receiver and a machine display receiver, making it highly versatile for grading, excavation, and site alignment tasks.
Patented Light Bar Technology â Its patented light bar laser reception delivers more accurate, consistent, and reliable readings than conventional receivers, with fewer electronic components for enhanced field robustness.
SuperâBright LED Indicators â Bright red/green/blue arrow LEDs provide clear onâgrade, high/low feedback even in bright sunlight, low light, or longârange conditions.
Rugged & Weatherproof Construction â Rated IP67 (dustâ and waterproof) with a 3âŻm (10âŻft) drop guarantee and robust magnetic clamp, this receiver is built to withstand harsh jobsite environments.
Digital Readout & Advanced Functions â Provides an exact numeric distanceâfromâgrade readout and supports features like radio communication with compatible Spectra lasers, remote displays, and fingerprinting to avoid false readings from multiple tools.
Long Battery Life & Practical Design â Runs on AA batteries with 60+âŻhour runtime and includes both C70 rod clamp and C71 magnetic machine mount for flexible deployment.
Q1: What is the Spectra Precision CR700 receiver used for?
A: The CR700 is a combination laser receiver that detects rotating laser beams for grading, excavating, alignment, and elevation control on construction sites. It can be machineâmounted or used on a grade rod for versatile applications.
Q2: Can the CR700 be mounted on equipment?
A: Yes â it includes a strong magnetic mount for mounting on excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and other small machinery, eliminating the need for a rod person.
Q3: Is the CR700 durable for rugged jobsite conditions?
A: Yes. It features IP67 dustproof and waterproof protection and a 3âŻm (10âŻft) drop guarantee, making it extremely rugged and reliable.
Q4: How does the CR700 show grade information?
A: It uses superâbright red, green, and blue LED arrow displays and a digital numeric readout to show onâgrade, tooâhigh, and tooâlow positions clearly.
Q5: What technology improves accuracy on the CR700?
A: The patented âlight barâ reception technology delivers highly accurate and consistent readings with fewer electronic parts, increasing reliability.
Q6: Can the CR700 communicate wirelessly with lasers?
A: Yes. It features internal twoâway radio communication compatible with advanced grade lasers (e.g., GL400N/GL600N series), unlocking functions like Grade Match, Fingerprinting, PlanLok, and Axis Alignment.
Q7: What is the working range and reception angle?
A: Depending on the paired laser, the CR700 has a working radius up to ~460âŻm (1,500âŻft) and a minimum 200° reception angle for broad beam detection.
Q8: What power and runtime can I expect?
A: The receiver runs on three AA batteries with 60+âŻhours battery life and has an automatic shutâoff feature to conserve power.
Clean the Sensor Window: Wipe the receiver window with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust, mud, or water for consistent laser detection.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Use only mild cleaning solutions or a damp cloth to protect waterproof seals and electronics.
Check Batteries Regularly: Replace or recharge batteries as soon as LED indicators dim to maintain strong signal reception.
Inspect Mounting Accessories: Ensure the rod clamp and magnetic mount are clean and secure for stable operation.
Store Properly: Keep the receiver and accessories in a protective case when not in use to prevent damage.
Protect from Extreme Conditions: Avoid prolonged exposure to heat, cold, or direct sunlight to preserve electronics and battery life.
Verify Performance Before Use: Test the receiver on-site to confirm accurate laser detection before starting measurements.
